Presbyterian Church We at PPC welcome and enfold new members into our family. For information about Membership, Baptism or Confirmation call the church, (626) 793-2191. The church is a community of Christians of all ages bound
by common faith in Jesus Christ and dedicated to working together to fulfill our Christian
commitments to God, the church, and the world. We at PPC seek to open our hearts and minds
to the support, nurture, insight, and challenges which help up grow in faith and live as
responsible persons in our complex world. A class of 6 to 8 sessions is offered several times each year to help groups of prospective new members learn more about our Christian faith, Presbyterian heritage, and church life here at PPC. The class culminates with the opportunity to affirm one's faith as a Christian and to be received into membership by the Session, our governing body. The next Inquirer's
class will begin in the Fall. During part of each year, Sunday Church School for 8th graders is a
Confirmation/Commissioning Class. Lessons on worship, mission, what it means to be a
Presbyterian, and how to proclaim the Good News are taught by church leaders. Each student is paired with a covenant partner to mentor
them through the journey of faith. After being received by the Session, our young people
are confirmed, commissioned and welcomed into the church family. Baptism, the public profession of faith made in the
presence of the people of God, unites us with Jesus Christ and initiates us into the
church community. This sacrament is administered to infants upon the request of parents
who are members, and to unbaptized adults and youth wishing to become members at the
conclusion of each Inquirer's and Confirmation Class. |
